Samarth Help and Troubleshooting

Most Samarth problems come from three places: the wrong details typed on the portal, a record still being processed by the office, or a bank account issue. Pick your problem below to see what to try.

Login not working

Check the mobile number is the registered one. Re-type the password with Caps Lock off. Refresh the captcha. Try another browser. If it still fails, use Forgot Password.

Forgot password

Use Forgot Password on samarth.wb.gov.in. You will need access to the registered mobile number. Never let anyone else read out your OTP.

Captcha problem

Captchas can be case-sensitive. Use the refresh icon for a clearer one. Disable browser translation, which sometimes alters form text.

Mobile number issue

If your registered number is lost or changed, online recovery may not work. The office that manages your record can update it after checking your identity.

Application not showing

New applications appear only after the office enters them. Confirm the scheme name and ask whether your form was entered.

Beneficiary record not found

Try each identifier and the correct scheme. A record under the wrong scheme will not appear. Then ask the office.

Payment not received

Check the payment is listed for the financial year, then check your bank account status. Follow the payment troubleshooting flowchart.

Status not updated

Updates depend on office processing. Check again after some days. If nothing changes for a long time, visit the office.

Website unavailable

The portal may be busy or under maintenance. Try at a quieter time, such as early morning. Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data.

Incorrect information

Corrections need documents and must go through the office. This website cannot change any record.

Verification pending

Keep your phone reachable and documents ready. Respond quickly if the office asks for anything.

Got a suspicious call?

Hang up. Do not share OTP or PIN. Report it on 1930 or cybercrime.gov.in.

Who to contact for official help

The office where you applied (BDO, SDO, municipality or municipal corporation) is your main contact for records. Your bank branch handles account issues. We are an independent website and cannot access any record.
