What does Samarth application status mean?

After you apply at the BDO, SDO, municipality or other designated office, your application is entered, checked and decided. The status on Samarth reflects the stage your record has reached in that process. It is a window into the office's work, not a separate decision.

My application is pending. What now?

Pending usually means the office has not finished processing. There is no official timeline we can confirm, and it varies. If it stays pending for a long time, visit the office where you applied with your acknowledgement slip.

What happens during verification?

The office checks your identity, age or category proof, residency and bank details. Some schemes may involve a field check. Keep your phone reachable on the number you gave.

If your application is rejected

Ask the office for the specific reason. Common causes are a document mismatch, a name spelled differently across documents, or already receiving another social pension. Whether you can reapply depends on the scheme.

If no information is shown

  • Try another identifier, such as mobile number instead of Aadhaar.
  • Confirm the exact scheme name with the office.
  • Try again later if the site is slow.
  • Ask whether your application has been entered online yet.

Common mistakes

  • Selecting the wrong scheme
  • Using a mobile number that was never registered
  • Searching on an unofficial website
  • Paying an agent to "check" status
Safety precautions

Checking status never requires an OTP to be told to anyone, a fee, or an app download. Enter Aadhaar only on samarth.wb.gov.in.
